When an avocado matches Pantone #383 perfectly, this Instagrammer takes notice.

Here’s an Instagram account for anyone who’s ever marvelled at the brilliant colour of foods – both natural and artificial.

is a San Francisco-based digital marketer who’s using her keen eye for colour to garner a sizeable social media following of design enthusiasts and foodies alike.
Her schtick? #PantonePosts – pairing foods with their Pantone colour swatch counterparts.

Avocado gets matched with #383; strawberries are a near-perfect #1797. You’ll find sashimi and soy sauce against #152 and #476, respectively. Even select ice creams find their proverbial colour home. It could be one of the most well-curated foodstagram accounts we’ve seen this year.
Most of us are only likely to come across the Pantone Institute of Colour around the time it announces the (which, in case you missed it, is Ultra Violet this year).

But Litman’s artistic background and digital marketing expertise means she's quite familiar with the company that calls itself “the world-renowned authority on colour”.

Pantone, which has produced a , is influential in the fields of design, fashion, branding and art, and has worked with some of the world’s biggest brands, such as Tiffany & Co.
But all we really care about right now is how good these swatches look underneath macarons.
And donuts.
Litman has taken her project one step further by creating her own Pantone swatches based on her favourite foods:
We think Fried Chicken could be the colour of the year in 2019. Just saying.
