Ingredients

  • 750 ml (25½ oz/3 cups) milk
  • 180 g (6½ oz) soft choc-coated licorice
  • 2 scoops licorice or vanilla ice cream
Monster your shake
  • 8 licorice allsorts
  • 2 candy twists (such as Twizzlers)
  • 6 choc-licorice candies, sliced
  • whipped cream
  • 2 large licorice lollipops

Instructions

To make the shake, place the licorice and 100 ml (3½ oz) of the milk in a saucepan over low heat and stir continuously for 5 minutes or until the licorice is soft. Remove from the heat and use

a potato masher to break up into small pieces. Set aside to cool for 15 minutes. Transfer to
a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Add the remaining milk and place in the fridge to chill. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth and combined.

Meanwhile, tie the candy twists into knots and thread onto two skewers along with the allsorts.

Using a spatula, smear some of the whipped cream around the outer rim of each glass, then decorate with the choc-licorice candies. Gently pour in the shake and top with a scoop of ice cream.

Spoon more whipped cream on top of the shakes and decorate with the lollipops and licorice skewers.
