(Audio in English) Victoria police arrested 57 youths during an operation that was conducted for three days across Melbourne suburbs. According to North Metro Commander Tim Hansen, 200 youths age 14-25 are on police radar, and 57 of them were arrested a few days ago.


Some of these 57 youths are charged with aggravated burglary, carjacking, robbery and cars linked crimes. In an interview with SBS Dinka yesterday, Tim Hansen cautioned the African communities on the ground that many of these youth are vulnerable in many aspects.

“What we know, is that those are involved in serious and organised crimes, whether they are drugs, gun trading, firearm trading, whether be aggravated burglary, cigarette burglaries at retails, they fray of these young kids to go and do a foot walk for them, and they expose them to the criminal justice system".
