More than 2,000 leaders from government, business and non-government organisations are attending the three-day gathering aiming to find practical solutions for refugees and host communities.
The forum is focusing on six areas: responsibility-sharing, education, energy and infrastructure, solutions, protection capacity, and jobs and livelihoods .
Economic inclusion is particularly important to many refugees living in Australia.
Refugee Council of Australia CEO Paul Power said in a statement it indicates a lack of commitment to the issue.
