The family of later Abiol Atem Manyang today reacted angrily after the Victorian Magistrate Court's judge granted bail to Thomas Street. Today was exactly 30 days since Abiol was killed in a hit and run last month.

Today's court hearing was attended by Abiol's elder son, brother, husband and a friend. Members of the family that attended the court hearing today were the husband Ayuel, son (Akok), brother (Majok) and friend (Nyankot).

The prosecution made their case not to let Thomas be bailed out, citing previous examples of how Thomas failed to follow conditions given to him. The court was told that 'Thomas got a history of driving with a suspended licence. After both the prosecutor, defending lawyer made their case, the judge granted bail with restrictions attached and assurance of $5000. Thomas will have to follow all the condition placed by the judge, including, drug testing, curfew, not to drive or even contact any witness.'
