Indian cricket coach Ravi Shastri earns more than skipper Virat Kohli

With a yearly salary of over Rs 7.6 crore, Ravi Shastri is also the highest paid coach in international cricket.

The current annual salary of Ravi Shastri, the coach of the Indian cricket team is $1.17 million (USD) or Rs 7.6 crore, according to a.

This makes Team India head coach Ravi Shastri, world’s highest-earning cricket coach.

The figures reveal Shastri has superseded skipper Virat Kohli who draws a salary of $1 million or Rs 6.5 crore*.

While Shastri is world’s highest-earning cricket coach, Kohli ranks at number three compared with international cricket team captains.

Australia’s Steve Smith and England’s Joe Root earn approximately Rs 9.6 crore and Rs 9 crore respectively, the magazine revealed.

Australian coach Darren Lehmann ranked second on the list of cricket coaches with earnings close to $0.55 million.

“Ravi Shastri, at $1.17 million per year, is the world’s best-paid coach, and on his salary alone, he earns less only than what the top player from Australia, England and India earns in a year. (Shastri, like all coaches, does not earn match fees.)

“By contrast, Australia and England pay their coach around half of what their top player earns as a basic salary,” the concludes.
