An Indian man lost his life in a tragic car crash in Perth on Saturday morning.

Sony Jose was killed on the spot and his wife Alphonsa sustained fatal injuries when their car crashed on Great Eastern Highway in Wooroloo on Saturday, 55km east of Perth.

30-year-old Sony Jose was driving a Toyota RAV4 and was on his way to the airport with his wife when their car collided with a Mitsubishi Triton.

The two vehicle crash caused at least one of the cars to roll near the intersection of Great Eastern Highway and Old Northam Road about 7.50am on 9th July morning.
Newscorp reported that career and volunteer fire-fighters helped to free the two trapped people at the scene.

Alphonsa and driver of the Mitsubishi ute were taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

Sony Jose, a parishioner from Northam, Perth, originally hails from Ramapuram in Kottayam, Kerala.

The couple moved to Northam  from South Australia, two years back.

Sony arrived in Australia in 2008 on a Student Visa and the duo were working at Child Protection Department in Northam.

Local media reports suggest Sony’s Brother Sojan, a UK resident, will come to Perth to take his body to his native place in Kerala.
