Revealed: Top 20 most burgled suburbs of 2015-16

Check out the top 20 riskiest suburbs of Melbourne which have seen high rates of burglary in last one year.

Crime rate has spiked in Victoria in last year by 10% and now figures by show that atleast one in 68 homes in Victoria was burgled in 2015-16.

And they have pointed out one postcode in Melbourne where the average is way higher.

While Airly in Southeast Victoria recorded worst burglary rate of one in 11 homes being robbed, Cardinia, Clyde and Clyde North in Melbourne’s southeast with postcode 3978 recorded worst burglary rate of the year in Melbourne with one in 19 homes being struck by robbers.

Other suburbs who made it to the top 20 list were Rockbank (one in 20 homes), Wollert (one in 21), Frankston North (one in 26), Officer (one in 28) and Heidelberg Heights (one in 30).

While it is most important to lock all your doors, windows and any other entry/exit point possible in the house, it is also vital to take other important steps to ensure that your house is safe during the holiday season.

Some of these steps include requesting the post-office to keep your letters or to ask a close friend to check and collect it from your house and also to take your important documents related to banking and valuables and leave them with close friends, relatives or in a locker.
