The Australian Labor party has released a special message from Opposition leader Bill Shorten.

The video highlighting the issue and Labor's commitment towards Long Stay Visa for Parents.

Mr Shorten argues why improving the condition of this visa is important for families and  communities belonging to the Indian subcontinent - "How important it is for this community to be able to keep their parents close. For children to be able to look after their parents in their old age and for grandparents to pass on their cultural heritage to their grandchildren.”

Mr Shorten says - “This means that grandmothers and grandfathers will be able to spend more precious time with their grandchildren and families in Australia.”

“It means pursuing policies that ensure that all Australians, no matter their background, have the opportunity to live in this country as full citizens, with equal dignity,” he adds.
