Body found in search for missing young Brazilian woman in Queensland

This Saturday, 8th December, it was confirmed the death of 21 year-old Brazilian Criskeila Veloso Gomes, from Queensland.


Criskeila was missing since Wednesday 28th november, more than a week ago.

Police says there are no indications of a crime at this stage.

Criskeila came to Australia when she was 7 years old.

His family went to Rockhampton, in the north of Queensland, to work in the abattoirs there, but her parents decided to move back to Brazil, to the city of Três Lagoas, state of Mato Grosso do Sul.

They told Brazilian journalists that the body of their daughter was found under a tree, in a sitting position, by the beach, and her car was also found with her mobile phone inside.

 and the Consulate-General of Brazil in Sydney are assistiing the family and authorities. 

The authorities are asking respect for the family's privacy in this painful moment.

Brazilian community in Australia is in shock and was using social media trying to find Criskeila Gomes.
