Adam Gilchrist praises Harmanpreet Kaur’s smashing performance in Big Bash League

India’s T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur is the first Indian women cricketer playing in big bash league in Australia.

The hard-hitting Indian all-rounder  helped Sydney Thunder register their first win in WBBL.

She was awarded the ‘player of the match’ for her sizzling performance, both with ball and bat.

She grabbed 4 wickets for 27 and then finished off the match with a knock of 30 not out from 21 balls which also included two lofty sixes.

Final score: Melbourne Stars 9-116 (Cameron 36, Kaur 4-27) lost to Sydney Thunder 2-121 (Haynes 35, Kaur 30no)

Thunders lost their first game to Melbourne Stars by six runs despite a debut heroic from Harmanpreet. She smashed 47 not out in that classy innings, which also featured five sweetly struck boundaries.

Cricket legend, commentator Adam Gilchrist was the first to react to Harmanpreet’s performance both on and off air. He tweeted, “Seriously impressed with  in last nights WBBL02 A wonderful addition to the tournament.”
Earlier, the hard-hitting all-rounder from Moga, Punjab etched her name in the cricket books by becoming the first Indian women cricketer playing in Big Bash League in Australia.

The Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) is the Australian women's domestic Twenty20 cricket competition.

Harman plays for Sydney Thunder who are the current Women's Big Bash League champions.
Harmanpreet made her debut for team India in 2009.

She captured the attention of WBBL recruiters in Adelaide Boxing Day 2016 when she helped India to win series in Australia as well as scoring a 31-ball 46 runs in India's highest ever chase in T20 internationals.
