Melbourne’s Hisense Arena is ready to host the Volleyball Nations League from 22 -24 June 2018.

In the four nation play out, Australia will face the ultimate challenge from world champions Poland, Olympic champions Brazil and Pan American champions Argentina.

21-year-old Arshdeep Singh Dosanjh, also known as Arsh Dosanjh will represent Australia in this tournament.

“It is going to be a tough contest and I look forward to this challenge! We’re very excited to play these games in front of our home crowd in Melbourne,” said Arsh in an interview with SBS Punjabi.

“They are tough teams. It’s the last week of the game so they’ll be pumped up to get some wins and so are we… That’s the Aussie way of doing it…We don’t fear anyone but we respect everyone.”

A resident of the Woodcraft suburb in Sydney’s west, Arsh Dosanjh has been making waves ever since he joined the Volleyball circuits in Australia.

Arsh was 17-year-old when he played his first international game against New Zealand in Adelaide.

He has played all forms of the game starting as a young rookie in NSW’s team followed by his selection to Australia’s U17, U19 and subsequently to the senior national team, the Volleyroos.

Arsh’s father Jaskaran Singh Dosanjh, who himself is a volleyball player, is in Melbourne to see him play at the Hisense Arena.

“It’s a great moment for us. We’re very excited to see him play. It is fantastic to see him wear the national colors on the field,” he said.

“The Volleyroos don’t get to play in Australia very often so this is a rare chance for Aussie sports fans to get out and see our team playing against the world champions.

The proud Sydney father will cheer for Australia on Friday, 22 June when Australia takes on Brazil at 9PM.
