An Indian migrant accused of hatching a murder plot from inside a South Australian jail has been denied bail.

33-year-old Kashminder Pal Singh appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court via a video link on Thursday in relation to multiple charges, including soliciting, persuading or proposing to murder.

It is alleged that Singh was plotting the murder of a former friend whom he wanted “out of the way for good” by offering $20,000 for the job to a prisoner.

The court was told in April last year that Singh wanted to end a love triangle.

The court heard Singh’s alleged victim was married to a woman who had an affair with Singh before leaving her husband and marrying Singh,  reported. The woman has since left Singh.

It was alleged that Singh approached a fellow prisoner to get the job done, offering him $15,000- 20,000 for the murder. The prisoner, however, later tipped off authorities about the alleged plot.

The plot was revealed when Singh appeared in the Court for a bail hearing in April 2017.

Court documents showed the plot was hatched between March 20 and April 6 last year- when he was arrested at the Adelaide Remand Centre where he was approved for release on home detention bail on charges of domestic abuse.

South Australia police confirmed to SBS Punjabi that on 6 April this year, a 32-year-old man from Adelaide, was charged with soliciting, persuade or propose to murder and was remanded in custody.

Magistrate BJ Dixion denied him bail. Singh will appear before the court on February 8 via a video link. He remains in custody.
