Indian restaurant manager hurt as wild brawl breaks during a birthday party

The manager of the restaurant suffered head injuries trying to break up the fight.

A violent fight erupted in an Indian restaurant in Adelaide during a 1st birthday party. reported that the Chennai palace manager was struck with broken glass while trying to break up a fight that erupted in his packed restaurant last week.
“I touched my head and the blood was bleeding in my head, then after that I went over there and I took some cloth and hold it.” The manager told 7 News Adelaide.
Witnesses say four men stormed the dinner and lashed out at partygoers on the dance floor.
“This bunch of people, they started hitting these people who was inside the party hall, then they started fighting each other, throwing the bottles, the chairs, everything.” said the owner of the restaurant Poongodi Soundarrajan.
Even a baby was used as a weapon during the fight. Terrified patrons hid under tables and thankfully many children present in the restaurant were unharmed.
“I was scared to death. I had to rush and get the kids off the place and then we rang the police and the ambulance.” said one of the witnesses.
The damage and chaos caused the restaurant owners to cancel a Bollywood function over the weekend which has resulted in loss in revenue for the restaurant owners.

Police believe that the attackers and victims are known to each other.
