A fridge fire has forced evacuation at Aangan Indian Restaurant at Mount Derrimut Road, Deer Park in Melbourne’s west.

A passerby witnessed a thick smoke coming from the back of the restaurant on Saturday night.

Everyone managed to escape safely and flames were quickly extinguished by firefighters, reported Nine News.
Nine’s Facebook post had some quick reactions from the community members.

Some of the comments were labelled ‘racist’ while others claimed they were posted in ‘a lighter vein’.

"Even a fridge couldn’t handle those hot spices

“Hope everyone is fine and safe, regardless their color, race and religion... Please ignore negative and ‘So-Called funny’ commentators. Sympathy and respect are very expensive gifts don’t expect from cheap people,” says Myth Breaker.

SBS Punjabi has contacted Aangan Indian Restaurant Derrimut to know the extent of the fire damage.
