Angry taxi drivers had heated exchanges with police outside the steps of Victorian parliament in Melbourne.
The drivers have shut down parts of the Melbourne CBD in protest against Uber, blocking Bourke street.

The taxi drivers also expressed their opposition to the proposed $10 booking fee that's aimed at improving incentives to operate during peak hours.

The protest caused blockade for nearly an hour before it was moved to the stairs of the parliament. The taxi drivers also protested in front of premier Daniel Andrew's office in Nobel Park.
Uber's controversial ridesharing service, Uber X has been regulated in NSW, ACT and South Australia. Victoria is yet to take a decision on it.
