WATCH: Fears and frustration after Subway store robbed ninth time in a row in Melbourne’s North

Two young men armed with a sledge hammers robbed a Subway restaurant in Epping, Melbourne’s North leaving staff and owner Sunny Singh terrified. No arrests have been made so far.

Two masked raiders forced their way into the Subway restaurant in Epping, Melbourne’s North on Oct 9. The restaurant was targeted ninth time this year according to the owner Sunny Singh.

The offenders were wearing balaclavas and dark clothing, and they ran into the store armed with sledge hammers demanding cash.

They rushed into the restaurant and threatened staff with sledge hammers to hand over keys to the cash till.

Customers were seen running out of the store and a little girl was also seen screaming running towards the car park when the incident occurred.

Restaurant Owner Sunny Singh told 7News that this was the ninth time this year the robbers had struck at his restaurant.

“What I am supposed to do, it is ninth time in a row”, said Sunny Singh who is extremely frustrated after his Subway restaurant in Epping, Melbourne’s North was robbed 9th time on 9th October and no arrests have been made so far.

“I have shared with my friends and family that it is best to take things in my hands, your hands and do justice on the spot”, said Sunny Singh.

“This latest incident has raised eyebrows and hackles in the community, which has been clamouring for, at best, more police presence and increased police patrols in the area”, said Goldy Brar who owns the Heritage Reception Bar and Restaurant within the close vicinity to Subway in High St, Epping.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Victoria police immediately.
