ਇੱਕ ਗਰੀਬ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਮਾਤਮ ਦਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਹੈ।
ਆਰਥਿਕ ਦੁਸ਼ਵਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੂਝਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਹਰਚੇਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਇੱਕ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਵਿੱਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਸੀ
ਹਰਚੇਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਚਚੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਕੁਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਘੇੜਾ ਨੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਿਆਨ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਮੌਤ ਪਿਛਲਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਖੇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਈ ਦੁਰਘਟਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਕੁਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਇੱਕ ਮਿਲਣਸਾਰ ਤੇ ਹੱਸਮੁੱਖ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਸੀ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਬ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਸੀ।

A Punjabi youth died in a horrific farm accident in New Zealand belonged to a very poor family in Punjab, India.
Harchet Singh Gill hailed from village Bhagiwandar, near Talwandi Sabo in Bathinda District of Punjab.
His cousin Kulwant Singh Sanghera told SBS Punjabi that his family had spent a fortune to send him to New Zealand to study two years ago.
“His tragic death has shattered hopes and dreams of his family back in Punjab,” Mr Sanghera said.
“He was the youngest of three siblings and used to look after his family’s financials.
“He will be remembered as a hard-working, fun-loving man who single-handedly supported his family.
Worksafe is investigating to find the exact cause of Mr Gill's death.

It is understood that some farm workers were on lunch break when the accident occurred near Pukekohe, New Zealand on 17th February, 2018.
Mr Sanghera told SBS Punjabi that Harchet reached to take out something out of the potato harvester machine when he was pulled in.
“We hope to band together and help this poor family that not only has to bear the tragedy of a lost family member, but the costs associated as well,” he said.
