So what happens after Indigenous Voice result is in?

In less than a month, voters will deliver their verdict on an Indigenous Voice to Parliament. [[October 14]] To succeed, the referendum needs what's called a double majority.


That's a majority of the population and a majority of the states voting Yes.
Here's a look at what happens next, once we know if the vote has succeeded or failed.
Australians are being asked whether they support a change to the Constitution through the upcoming referendum.
Once vote counting begins, it could take days or even weeks to get a final result.
