A major bridge in the United States city of Baltimore has collapsed after being struck by a cargo ship that lost power and rammed it. The incident sent a number of vehicles in the harbour below, leaving six people missing and presumed dead.


It was only a matter of seconds when Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed after a massive cargo ship lost power while sailing out of the harbor.
The event sent vehicles and people into the river below and closed one of the busiest ports on the US Eastern Seaboard.
Authorities say the destruction of the bridge will have a huge impact on the world's largest economy.
According to analysts, the bridge could cost billions of dollars.
