The daughter of one of Donald Trump's closest advisers says the president is exaggerating his health status and is actually "doing badly" after being infected with coronavirus.

Claudia Conway, the daughter of Mr Trump's former counsellor Kellyanne Conway, told fans on the TikTok social platform that the president's claims of good health were "ridiculous".

"Apparently he is doing badly... and they are doing what they can to stabilise him," she wrote.
Mr Trump recently returned to the White House after spending three days at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre battling COVID-19.

He briefly left hospital on Monday to pay a surprise drive-by visit to the "great patriots" gathering outside the military hospital in Washington.
Dr James Phillips, an attending physician at Walter Reed, said the president's actions could only be described as "insanity".

"Every single person in the vehicle during that completely unnecessary presidential 'drive-by' just now has to be quarantined for 14 days. They might get sick. They may die," he wrote on Twitter.

The president's doctors have been sharply criticised for attempting to downplay the severity of Mr Trump's condition.

Mr Trump on Tuesday climbed the stairs at the South Portico of the White House, removed his mask and saluted as he looked over the South Lawn. He appeared to be breathing deeply.
Ms Conway also recently returned a COVID-positive test, along with his campaign manager Bill Stepien.

She tweeted on Friday that she had a "light cough" and was "feeling fine".

"I have begun a quarantine process in consultation with physicians," she added.
Ms Conway attended the Rose Garden announcement on Saturday where Mr Trump announced his nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.

At least three others who attended the event - Republican senators Mike Lee and Thom Tillis and University of Notre Dame President John Jenkins - have since said they also tested positive for the virus.

Judge Barrett has tested negative, the White House said.
