Actor Alec Baldwin was one of the highlights of the US presidential election campaign with his scathing portrayal of Republican Donald Trump.

Now the election is over, Baldwin is back, this time showing a floundering Mr Trump desperately trying to work out how to actually be the president.

In a skit on Saturday, Baldwin's Mr Trump is assisted by his aide, Kellyanne Conway, who brings in people eager to meet with the new president-elect.

The first is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dunlop who is keen to hear Mr Turmp's "secret plan" to bring down IS.
"We've been stuck fighting ISIS in Jabaht al-Nusra for six years now, so when we found out that you had a secret plan it really energised us," he said.

"Whatever it is we're really looking forward to hearing it come January. It's only seven weeks away so, let's save some lives together sir."

As the general leaves the room, Mr Trump heads to his laptop.

"Google. What is ISIS? Oh my, 59 million results," he said, before picking up his phone.

"Siri? How do I kill ISIS? This is a Blackberry."
His panic is interrupted by a man excited about Mr Trump's plan to bring back all the jobs lost in his coal country town, as well as the 2000 mile-long wall at a cost, the man says, of $25 billion.

"$25 billion, it can't be that much, oh God, oh God, don't worry Donald, it'll be ok, Hillary's still ahead in the polls," Mr Trump said.

Mitt Romney then interrupts his panic and the pair get stuck in an awkwardly long handshake: "This isn't going to work, is it?" Mr Romney says before leaving the office.

Mr Trump's final visitor was vice president-elect Mike Pence.

"Heard you went to see Hamilton, how was that?" Mr Trump asks.
"It was good. I got a free lecture," Mr Pence says.

The conversation continued, "I love you Mike, you're the reason I'm never going to get impeached," Mr Trump said.

"Sir, we have a few problems," Mr Pence said.

The problems, it turns out, are the difficulty in finding 11 million illegal immigrants to deport, some people actually like Obamacare and that it is unlikely it would be possible to hire a special prosecutor to jail Hillary Clinton.
Mr Trump's response to each problem is to "scrap it", "get rid of it".

"Sir, being president is going to be hard, but we're going to get through it, together," Mr Pence said.

"Thank you Mike," Mr Trump said.

"And Mike? You're going to do everything, right?"

The real Donald Trump, however, did not see the funny side to the skit.

As with previous skits critical of him, he tweeted his displeasure:
To which Baldwin himself later responded:
