Mining magnate Andrew Forrest says the review into Indigenous jobs and training programs could cause Aboriginal people to lose their subsidised housing in remote communities if they take jobs.
In remote Northern Territory communities, only one in five Indigenous young people are engaged in work or study, the parliamentary secretary for Indigenous affairs, Alan Tudge has revealed.
Earlier this year, Mr Forrest suggested that young people should not be allowed to leave school unless they have a job to go to.
Mr Forrest was commissioned by Prime Minister Tony Abbott during the election campaign last year to conduct the review.
Media reports suggest the results and recommendations are so wide-ranging that Mr Forrest wants to alert the Prime Minister before they are released.
Findings will also be observed by the Indigenous Affairs Minister and the secretary assisting the Prime Minister, Alan Tudge.
