The Liberal Party's candidate for the federal seat of Warringah has been castigated for her comparison of issues surrounding transgender children with the Stolen Generations.
Katherine Deves, selected to run for the seat by Scott Morrison himself, has gone to ground after more old social media posts were unearthed which revealed her antipathy towards transgender causes.
The prime minister has backed in the candidate despite the last week's controversies.
Former independent candidate for the seat of Warringah, and a member of the Stolen Generations, Susan Moylan-Coombs questioned why the prime minister would "promote someone who has such polarising views."
"Warringah needs someone who will champion all youth... [not] someone who is clearly out of step with the complexity of concerns that face youth today," the Gurindji and Woolwonga woman told NITV News.
"If Katherine Deves is the Captain’s pick for Warringah, I think it says a lot about the captain."
Already under fire for her comments on the involvement of transgender people in sports, fresh revelations of unfavourable comparisons may have further undermined her campaign.

In a post on Twitter from last year, Ms Deves said the country risks another Stolen Generation if transgender teenagers are removed from homes when their family doesn’t support hormone therapy and surgery.
“Australia has a very dark history of children being taken from their families by the state (because) bureaucrats thought they knew better," she wrote.
“Don’t we owe it to lessons of the past, such as our shameful Stolen Generation scandal, to stop the destruction of families for flawed beliefs?”
The tweet was a reference to a West Australian court decision in which an appeal by the parents of a trans child who had been taken into foster care was dismissed by the presiding judge.
Ms Moylan-Coombs took objection to the comparison.
"As someone from the Stolen Generations, I find her comments perplexing and her assertions lazy...
"[Ms Deves] freely voices attitudes that are out of step with local people and indeed the nation.
"Warringah needs someone who will champion all youth... and that’s not Deves."
