and cultural consultant, Aunty Gail Mabo are set to launch their Song Nation Project to voice the concerns of young people from across regional Australia.
"It’s a collection of projects we’ve done in schools and communities to create dialogue around social and community issues in a modern form," said Creative Director Toby Finlayson.
Mr Finlayson travelled to 10 remote communities with Aunty Gail Mabo to inspire and empower Indigenous youth through music and storytelling.
"It’s more about positivity and hope," he said.
The daughter of celebrated land rights activist, Eddie Mabo says the key to happiness is family.
"When you're connected with country and people, you're happy. When you reflect on your childhood that’s the happiest time of your life," she said.
While travelling with Desert Pea Media, Aunty Mabo uses her creative skills to connect with youth and their families.
"As a visual artist I sit down with them and take a moment to paint and that’s how you make a breakthrough into the community," she said.
