Where do you see yourself in ten years?

Bailey: I’d love to be a jet-setting travel writer but I guess that’s kind of a pipe dream.

Zoe: Ideally working as Grand Chief of my community to help make a difference.

Caitlin: Living the family life with 4 kids and a loving husband.

Anna: I don’t know. Things are pretty up in the air right now.

Your best quality?

Bailey: I’m a dreamer who sees a world of possibilities.

Zoe: I’m focused, hardworking and dependable.

Caitlin: My dedication to my friends and loved ones. Mess with them and you will have to deal with me!

Anna: I’m a free spirit!

Your worst quality?
Bailey: I can get really cynical. The expression “the sky’s the limit” doesn’t usually apply to Native people and it gets me so frustrated.

Zoe: Apparently, I can be a little uptight (that’s what my friends say, anyway).

Caitlin: Me? Worst quality? Please.

Anna: Also being a free spirit. It sometimes – okay, often – gets me into trouble!

Your ideal vacation?

Bailey: Backpacking through South America. Or Africa. Or… do I have to choose just one?

Zoe: A spa day is a perfect way to unwind. And it’s only a day so you don’t have to worry about all the work that you’re not doing!

Caitlin: My man surprises me with a trip to an all-inclusive resort and we spend a romantic week on a beautiful beach together.

Anna: I would love to go to one of those crazy summer music festivals where you camp for the weekend. They sound soooo fun and I’m sure I would meet a bunch of cool people.

Describe your style …
Bailey: Cool comfort.

Zoe: The 3 Cs – Classy, conservative and chic.

Caitlin: Sexy mama! You’re only young once. Flaunt it while you got it.

Anna: Adventurous, colourful and unique. It’s all about having fun and expressing yourself.

Pet peeve:
Bailey: Stereotypes about Native people

Zoe: Slackers.

Caitlin: People who bail on their commitments.

Anna: Sad, drab clothes

What would you do if you won the lottery?
Bailey: Travel the world!

Zoe: Use the money for something that would benefit my community – maybe a new community centre.

Caitlin: Share it with my friends and my dad and grandma.

Anna: Hop on a plane to NYC every other week to see my mom and friends. I really miss them and the fast-paced life of the city.

What do you look for in a friend?
Bailey: Someone who sticks around for the good and the bad and who puts up with my sarcasm!

Zoe: Respect, kindness, and discretion – I can’t have them spilling my secrets!

Caitlin: Someone who is loyal and supportive of my choices even if they disagree with them.

Anna: The best friends are those who never judge.

Your perfect night out involves …
Bailey: Heading to Montreal and discovering some cool festival or restaurant or event.

Zoe: Actually it would be a night in: a nice dinner with my friends and with some good wine and music.

Caitlin: Dancing with my friends and my man!

Anna: Checking out a cool resto, bar, art show, etc. so long as it’s spontaneous.

What is a Mohawk Girl?
Bailey: A Mohawk Girl is someone who’s strong and brave and doesn’t get pushed around. She’s proud of her culture and isn’t afraid to be herself.

Zoe: A Mohawk Girl is a role model for our youth and presents a positive image of Mohawks to the outside world.

Caitlin: A Mohawk Girl is a kick-ass, sexy, strong woman who rebuilds the Mohawk Nation so that our culture can survive and flourish.

Anna: I’m still trying to figure that out. Some of them are a little scary. But many of them are warm, generous, and proud of their ancestry. I think being a Mohawk Girl is all about balancing your individuality with your culture; that’s what I’m trying to do.
