Survival Perth

WA’s capital will be commemorating the day in a new location with Survival Perth moving to Ozone Reserve for 2016. This Survival Day event highlights local talent from 3.00pm with The Merindas, Mervyn Mulardy and Phil Walley-Stack amongst the performers.

The popular Elder Zone will return as well as activities for the kids including free face painting and rides in nearby Langley Park. For more information visit the website.

Yabun Festival

Aboriginal rock and reggae icon Bart Willoughby will be headlining this year’s Yabun festival, held annually on Survival Day, January 26 on the traditional lands of the Gadigal people in Camperdown, Sydney.

He is joined by a line-up of gifted singers and musicians who will entertain the crowds from 10.00am. A vibrant program of arts, dance, music and speakers will help to complete this celebration of the oldest living culture on earth! For more information check out the website.

Redfern Community March

A community march will be assembling at the Block at Redfern at 10.00am before marching into the city and later commemorating the 1938 Day of Mourning Silent Protest.

Share the Spirit Festival

Returning to Melbourne’s Treasury Gardens this year, this thriving hub of Aboriginal dance, culture and music will showcase the talent of the local community. A rally willl be held at 11.30am (meeting from 9.30am) on the State Parliament Steps in Melbourne. 

Belgrave Survival Day

This Survival Day event begins at 12.30pm at Belgrave's Borthwick Park and is headlined by the Kutcha Edwards Trio. The theme for this year's event is 'No Room for Racism' and attendees will be informed and entertained by guest speakers, dancers and musical performances. Tandanya Survival Day

'Still Surviving, Still Thriving' is the catchphrase for this year's Survival Day celebration on Port Adelaide's Semaphore Foreshore. From 12.30pm up-and-coming and seasoned performers including Electric Fields, Bec Gollan and Alan Sumner will grace the stage delivering an afternoon of musical delight. 

Committed to supporting Indigenous culture, dancers from Kurruru Youth Performing Arts Centre will also perform. For more info check out their website.

Adelaide Community Rally

Those wishing to join this protest can assemble on the Parliament House Steps on North Terrace at 11.00am.

A protest march will begin from the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre at 11.15am, followed by a rally at the Parliament House lawns.
