On Sunday, WA police were called out to an incident in relation to a woman who was reported to be injured.
The police arrived at the Boulder Camp, located on the outskirts of Kalgoorlie 600 kilometres east of Perth, to instead find a body
WA Today has that a community member from the camp directed police to the woman's body, which was found under a blanket in the scrub just outside the camp.
Later, WA police confirmed the woman, believed to be in her 30's, was deceased when they arrived.
Detectives are unable to confirm which community the deceased woman had come from.
On Monday, Homicide detectives travelled from Perth to Kalgoorlie to continue their investigation.
A man known to the victim was taken into custody as a suspect, but was later released after assisting the detectives with their investigation.
The detectives are now attempting to locate a second person on interest.
The Boulder Camp is used as temporary accommodation for Aboriginal people travelling in from surrounding remote communities.
The investigation remains on-going.
