The 25-year-old Team DSM rider made his breakthrough with a second-place finish at the 2020 Giro d’Italia.
The Perth product is off-contract at the end of this season and reports from Dutch publication Wielerflits claim he is set to put pen to paper with Bora.
Hindley has long been expected to depart Team DSM with rumours also linking him with a move to Trek-Segafredo, though the American team has denied the connection.
His current outfit, Team DSM, acknowledged the Australian could be set to depart ahead of next season.
“We would be very happy to keep Jai with the team, but we are not 100% sure if that will be the case,” Team DSM said in a statement.
Team DSM has struggled to hold on to their star riders in recent seasons with an exit from Hindley just adding to the exodus of talent.
Australian rider Michael Matthews left the squad, then known as Team Sunweb, last year terminating his contract a year early and moving to Team BikeExchange.
Other high profile riders including Warren Barguil, Marcel Kittel, and Tom Dumoulin have also all left in similar circumstances over the years, while Marc Hirschi made a shock transfer from Sunweb to UAE Team Emirates this winter.
Hindley has struggled to build on his Giro success this season with injury and illness combining to stall the West Australian’s development.
He has not raced since stage 14 of the 2021 Giro d’Italia where he was forced to abandon the race due to a saddle sore that developed during the Italian Grand Tour.
