The Portugal and Real Madrid superstar put in a man of the match display for his country as they secured their passage through to Monday morning's (AEST) final.

However, the 31 year-old had a special moment with a passionate ball boy desperate to meet his idol.

The young fan scored a 'selfie' with the record breaking striker before the match, but then attempted to crash the Portugal team photo.

A cheeky grin from Ronaldo sealed an unforgettable moment for the youngster who skipped away and joined his friends in excitement.

The former Ballon D'or winner hung in the air for what seemed like an eternity to score Portugal's first just after the break, before setting up Nani for their second minutes later.
The result knocked out Real Madrid team mate Gareth Bale's Wales outfit and Ronaldo toned down his usual post match bravado to recognise the Welsh star's tournament.

Portugal will take on the winner of France and Germany in Monday's (AEST) EURO 2016 final to be held at the Stade de France.
