Warning: this article includes minor spoilers for 'IT: Chapter Two'.

The sequel to horror film reboot IT may not be slated for release until September next year, but it's already grabbing our attention for all the right reasons.

It last week emerged that the film, which will once again be directed by Andy Muschietti and star Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise, features a small, ill-fated same-sex story line.
According to , openly gay actors Taylor Frey and Xavier Dolan have been cast as gay couple Don Hagarty and Adrian Mellon, who feature in Stephen King’s original 1986 novel of the same name.

Frey, who appeared in teen comedy G.B.F, took to social media to share his excitement at the news.

“Can’t wait to jump into Derry with these incredible actors,” he wrote on Instagram.

French-Canadian Dolan is a writer, director, actor and producer known for films including Heartbeats and Tom at the Farm.

While their presence in the film will no doubt be exciting for some, it is understood that the loved-up characters meet an unfortunate fate, being harassed by locals and eventually eaten by Pennywise the clown.
