'Pose' star Dominique Jackson to play goddess in new season of 'American Gods'

Dominique Jackson, fresh from , has been announced as a new cast member for the third season of popular TV series American Gods.

Not only that, but the star will be playing a literal goddess.
According to , Jackson is set to play the role of Ms. World, the female incarnation of Crispin Glover’s character Mr. World.

Jackson, known for her performance as Mother Electra in groundbreaking series Pose, will join other another new cast member, Eric Johnson, who will play Lakeside police chief Chad Mulligan.

Guest stars for the third season of the show, based on Neil Gaiman’s novel, will include Marilyn Manson, Blythe Danner and Herizen Guardiola. Series regulars include Australia's very own Emily Browning.

“I'm so forever grateful,” Jackson on Twitter in response to the announcement.

Taking to the stage to accept her HRC award last week, Jackson delivered a blistering speech highlighting the ongoing persecution faced by trans women of colour.

“My loves, as a trans women of colour, we face violence, we face brutality, we face so much,” .

“I will never, ever ask any of you for respect,” she continued. “I will demand it. You will not tell me that you accept me. You will not tell me that you tolerate me. That is not your power. I take that from you. You will respect me for who I am.”
