A man has proposed to his boyfriend in front of a crowd at Drag World UK—and former Ru Paul’s Drag Race queen, Alaska Thunderf**k.
In a video posted to Twitter, Alaska is seen chatting with the couple—quoting a scene from Mean Girls—and then handing the microphone over to one of the men.
“Now that we’ve cleared that up,” she says, “there’s someone else who’d like to ask you a question”.
He steps closer to his partner and says: “Without drag, I wouldn’t be here today and without you, I wouldn’t be here today.”
“I love you more than anything on this planet and you make me the happiest guy,” he adds.
Alaska’s jaw drops and the crowd squeals with excitement as he then bends down on one knee and asks his boyfriend to marry him.
One person commented on the Drag World Facebook page: “Me and my friend were there trying not to cry what an amazing pair! Many condragulations on your engagement! XxxxxX”
The convention is Europe’s largest celebration of drag with fans dressed as their favourite queens, queueing up to meet Michelle Visage, Katya, Sharon Needles, Jinxk Monsoon and Adore Delano, among other queens.
