The winner of Drag Race Thailand Season One has announced that he's running for Congress.

Assadayut Khun Viseadpong, stage name Natalia Pliacam, is gunning for a seat with the Thai Local Party - a new party campaigning on a strong platform of LGBTIQ+ issues.

Announcing his pivot to politics on social media, Khun Viseadpong shared the party's campaign slogan - "We are HERO".
"Everyone in this country is a hero," he wrote.

"We all go through bad times together and get through conflict together."

He continued: "Today we want Thai people to know they are all heroes. We believe we can solve the conflict.

"Today we have to hold hands and fight the outside world. Time’s up on conflict. We need to fight the ones who cause it.

"Today we have to come together and unite all Thai power together."

According to , before winning Drag Race, Assadayut worked for a business selling coffins in Bangkok’s Chinatown.
