Australia's Isaiah Firebrace joined the Bulgarian contestant Kristian Kostov for a joint interview to discuss their enthusiasm around Eurovision. Both singers are just 17 years-old, making them the youngest Eurovision contestants this year.
Admiration for each other was obviously very high, with Kostov recording a cover of Isaiah's Eurovision entry Don't Come Easy.
When the two of them met, both found they had a shared passion for R&B music, with Kostov expressing a love for Justin Timberlake. It was evident just how broad Isaiah's own musical taste is when he tried to explain what sort of music he was into.
"I love listening to the radio. Radio music's cool. Also, old music from the 50's, 60s, 70s, and 80s. And country music. And rock 'n roll," Isaiah explained.
Both also found they had a shared love for Ed Sheehan, with Kostov loving that he is "a performer with just a guitar".
Neither of the young men were able to escape their age in the chat, with both remarking on the weight and prestige of representing their countries at just 17 years of age.
"I'm really proud to take part in the biggest European event. I feel humbled," Kostov revealed.
Isaiah echoed Kostov's thoughts: "I feel so grateful for this opportunity. I never thought I would be on such a big stage and representing my country at such a young age. I feel really honoured to be a part of it."
But, ultimately, should their age be such an issue? Isaiah certainly doesn't think so: "I don't think age really matters. It's just a number and talent speaks for itself. If we come together and celebrate diversity, which is also celebrating younger people and older people, everyone is going to have a great time."
The Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast over SBS’s Eurovision weekend - Friday 12 May, Saturday 13 May, and Grand Final Sunday 14 May at 7.30pm on SBS with LIVE early morning broadcasts begin Wednesday 10 May at 5am on SBS.
