Dave Gorman: Modern Life Is Goodish

Modern life confounds many of us, what with its constant influx of information, and pressure to be or do this, that or the other. Using PowerPoint presentations on a gigantic screen set up before a live studio audience, Britain’s Dave Gorman dives to the depths on modern-day topics as broad as online behaviour and celebrity cults, technology and media, family and money. In one episode, he even masquerades as his own wife to find a man on Tinder. What could go wrong?

Fear the Walking Dead

In season 3 of this popular companion series to The Walking Dead our families are brought together in the vibrant yet violent atmosphere of what used to be the USA–Mexico border – with international borders dissolved following the world’s end, they’re faced with rebuilding not only society but family as well. Among the storylines this season, Madison (Kim Dickens) has reconnected with Travis (Cliff Curtis), but Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) has been fractured by her murder of Andres. There is a lot going on in this thrilling sci-fi drama.

Season 3 of Fear The Walking Dead premieres with a double episode, Friday 2 July at 10.25pm on SBS VICELAND, airing weekly. The full season is streaming . Seasons 1 and 2 are also available for catch-up.

Black Lives Matter: A Global Reckoning

The 2020 murder of Black man George Floyd at the hands of police in America sparked more than passionate shows of solidarity all around the world. The despicable act also held up a mirror, forcing communities to confront their own racism. In the first episode of this 4-part series, Alzo Slade is in Italy, examining the treatment of Black people in that country – immigrants, yes, but also those born there. The show also travels to Israel, Brazil and Denmark.

Savages

Roschdy Zem stars as Idder Chaouch in this adaptation of author Sabri Louatah’s best-selling novels in which Chaouch, a Black man with Algerian heritage, is elected president of France. While many look to him as being ‘’ there is no denying that for others, he presents a direct threat to life as they know it. The show follows the aftermath of an attempt on Chaouch’s life. In the chase for the would-be killer, the first stop is the President’s inner circle.
