From nagin dance to cake to cash rewards, here’s how Team India celebrated the historic Test series win against Australia

A day after Team India won the historic first-ever Test series in Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Captain Kohli cut a special cake with wife Anushka.

Team India joined members of Bharat Army on the day they clinched the Border-Gavaskar trophy, 2-1, and making history by winning their first-ever Test series down under.

In a video shared online, cricketers were seen dancing with cricket fans, celebrating their victory down under.

"So proud of you my love"

A day later, Kohli shared a special post on his Instagram stories revealing how he celebrated with his wife and actress Anushka Sharma.

In her Instagram post, Anushka congratulated Team India and her husband.

“So so happy and proud of you my love,” she wrote.

Cash rewards for Team India

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced cash rewards for the victorious Indian cricket team which won the first ever Test series on Australian soil after 71 years.

While the playing XI players will get 15 lakhs each per match, reserve players will get 7.5 lakhs per match.

Coaches will be given Rs 25 lakh and members of the Indian support staff will be paid bonuses equivalent to the pro-rata salary/professional fee, The reported.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the victorious Indian Cricket Team.

“The series witnessed some memorable performances and solid teamwork. Congratulations to the Indian Cricket Team for the hard-fought and richly deserved series victory,” wrote PM Modi on Twitter.
