In an outrageous hit-and-run case caught on CCTV camera, 29-year-old taxi driver Jagmeet Sidhu was sent cartwheeling several feet in the air. The incident occurred in Gold Coast.

Behind the wheel of the car that ran him down was a former cab driver who is now driving an Uber.

33-year-old Sukhwinder Gill has been accused of this hit-and-run and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and causing grievous bodily harm. He was arrested and later given bail.

Eyewitnesses were shocked at this "road-rage" incident that unfolded in broad daylight. Some witnesses tried to stop the car but he continued to drive.

It's been said the victim was known to the accused.

Both of them had an argument before the accused sat in his car and ran over Mr. Sidhu, 7 News reported.
The Queensland Taxi Council has said in a statement that the incident seems to be the result of a personal dispute.

"We don't know the facts. We await the outcome of the police investigation," it added.

The victim, Mr. Sidhu is in hospital with a badly fractured leg.
